IONIQ 6

The Aerodynamic and Spectacular IONIQ 6

Everyone is eagerly awaiting it, and can’t wait for it to make its official debut in this country. The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 is even more spectacular than expected. Not only does the electric sedan boast a stunning silhouette, but it also has off-the-charts capabilities. With an estimated range of 581 kilometres, it is well ahead of its rivals in the category. The reason for this extended range is the aerodynamic design, which maximizes efficiency while minimizing friction. Also important, with the use of an extended roof and flat floor, the Hyundai 6 is the most spacious sedan in its class, while allowing for a unique cargo area.

lONIQ 6 Platform

The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 is based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, which also underpins the loniq5 and Hyundai’s battery-electric vehicles, including the Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60. The Ionic 6 has a long, low roofline and a slight boat-tail shape that Hyundai says gives it an “ultra-low coefficient of drag” of 0.22. Coupled with a 77 .4 kWh battery, the IONIQ 6 will be offered with front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive and will have a range of up to 581. kilometres, 100 more than the IONIQ 5.

The designer, Simon Loasby, responsible for the car, has indeed used every detail, including a shark fin as an antenna and a spoiler inspired by the wings of stealth aircraft, to design the car. The all-wheel drive version will develop 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque from two engines located in the front and rear of the car. The Hyundai IONIQ 6 with all-wheel drive has a range of about 509 kilometres. The front-wheel-drive version has 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, giving it a claimed range of 540 kilometres. Three versions of the IONIQ 6 will be available in Canada this spring: the rear-wheel drive Preferred, which has the longest range, the all-wheel drive Preferred, which has a range of 509 km, and the Ultimate Package Preferred, which increases the wheel size from 18″ to 20″ and reduces the range to 435 km.

The Pixel Queen

The car looks dramatic and aerodynamic, but it’s the 700 or so pixels of light on all four corners that set it apart. They not only display the state of charge but are also part of the atmosphere. Even in the cabin, more than 64 colours are selectable for more comfort. As for the dashboard, it matches that of the loniqS with its large touch screens, advanced connectivity and efficient voice commands, It will also benefit from standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Some versions will also feature V2L, the system that allows the battery charge to be used to power a few outdoor tools, or charge another car. The first examples of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 are scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the spring of 2023.
